1996 Mercedes Benz S-Class W140 Series

Here is a compilation of photos and videos of my W140 series 1996 Mercedes S-Class. The car itself was owned by one family for 12 years and has only covered 88000 miles so it's in pretty good original condition inside and out. It is an S280 (2.8 straight six) so by no means a rocket ship, but it's good for relaxed cruising. Also, it's not the LWB so it only takes up around 1.5 parking spaces as opposed to 2. I'm a big fan of the W140 series S-Class, they're incredibly over engineered cars, I mean.. does a car really need double glazing?! Love it. In an ideal world I'd like to subtly modify the car but I don't want to ruin its originality so I think it'll be staying as is! Thanks for watching.

The front end structure, with its high energy-absorption potential, is essentially made up of the firewall and two lines of longitudinal members, anchored at the A-pillars. Two vertical members link the longitudinal members, which further increase deformation resistance. The necessary rigidity and strength of the floor assembly is provided by a robust structure made up of a separate center tunnel plus separate longitudinal members along each side, attached to the side wall. These are supported by cross members anchored to the floor as well as by a connecting member to the B-pillar as support for the front structure. The positioning of the fuel tank in front of the rear axle and of the filler neck over the rear axle increases the available deformation distance, maximizing the level of energy absorption in the event of a rear-end collision. Mercedes-Benz 250SE Coup

This particular example has an interesting history as her first owner was Prince Michael of Greece and Denmark, cousin and close friend of King Constantine who owned a similar 250 SE but Cabriolet! The car belonged to the fleet of the Royal Palace and carried the Kingdom of Greece crest as a license plate in the front and rear bumpers!
