Mercedes M119 motor throttle body rebuild. Wiring replaced.

Mercedes M119 motor throttle body rebuild. Wiring replaced.RestoreYourMercedes.com. Rewired Mercedes throttle body, aka ETA for electronic throttle actuator, with military grade wires. Original harness deteriorated, insulation was falling off, wires shorted. ETA did not respond at all. Car this throttle body came off is 1994 SL500 with only 57000 miles! Car is in mint shape and I personally removed it off the car. True 57000 mile. In video ETA was tested it on my 94 S500. Both have M119 motor. ETA wiring failures are found in all ASR equipped Mercedes 1992-1996 models. During those years Mercedes used bio-degradable wiring. If your car is equipped with ASR and ETA wires short, car will go into Limp mode. Throttle will not respond until gas pedal is pressed 2/3 down. Idle will be high, around 1100 RPMs, transmission will engage violently and shift at high RPMs with kick. Not recommended to drive a car in Limp mode. You can damage transmission and engine mounts. 1960 Mercedes Benz 180D

1960 Mercedes Benz 180DHere a quick video of my 1960 Mercedes-Benz 180Db diesel sedan. This was the entry level Mercedes back in the day and was a stripped down model with very little chrome, etc and even has no radio. The body is very dated for the time and Mercedes wouldnt catch up style wise until 1968. They ran these from 1954-1962 and the diesels were their bread and butter for many years and established them as a quality leader here. Studebaker was the original sole importer for them at first until they went out of buisness. I had a $500.00 Maaco paint job done to it last year in the original color. Ive had this car since 1983 and finally finished it last year. It gets 40MPG, is 43HP, has 4spd on the column plus reverse, and has a top speed of 70MPH. These were big as taxis in Europe back in the day for their economy and reliability and were built like tanks they were so solid. This has over 500000 Km on it. Thermo-King used these engines from 1962-1980 in their diesel truck/trailer refrigeration units exclusively and they were also used in sailboats, generators, Lantz tractors, and also some forklifts. The bodies would rust apart around the engines they lasted so long. And yes its supposed to sound like a Mack truck.
